Conferences

Conference – Imposed occupational transition: When ALS imposes a change of direction

The diagnosis of ALS, like a train that has to change tracks suddenly, imposes a change of direction on one’s own life and those of one’s loved ones. Unlike retirement, where it is possible to plan and choose the direction of one’s new life outside of work, ALS is an imposed occupational transition. How can we make sense of this imposed occupational transition, which disrupts our occupational identity, the roles we have assumed, and the skills we have acquired?

This conference proposes concrete solutions through the search for and initiation of meaningful occupations, the preferred lever for change in occupational therapy.

Conference is in French with bilingual slides. Questions and comments in English are welcome.

This webinar aims to provide information on genetics in ALS, the role of a genetic counsellor, considerations for genetic testing in ALS, and how therapies can target the genetic forms of ALS.

The conference will be given in FRENCH.

Seize the day experience

For more than a year, the pandemic has made it difficult for family and close friends to spend quality time together. As the province opens up again, we are proud to offer you the Seize the Day experience, thanks to the continued support of the Tenaquip Foundation. The goal of this initiative is to gift an opportunity to reunite with loved ones and create lasting memories for families touched by ALS.

Whether it’s attending a picnic with family or friends, a special show, a dinner party, a day at the spa, we want to offer you a priceless experience while ensuring all public health and safety measures.

Past experiences include: Travel expenses so that Monique Chartier and her husband can attend their grandson’s wedding in the small town of St-Agapit; A fishing expedition while on a trip in the Bahamas for Mario Laberge and his family; A helicopter tour dream come true for Sylvain Plante; A catered evening from a renowned chef for Line Thiboutot and her family.
